John Stahlschmidt
Dedicated to Growing the Game

 

John has a rich and illustrious background both as a player and coach.  A native of St. Louis MO, John grew up competing at a high level and had over 50 wins as a junior golfer including (2) Missouri Junior Golf Championships, 1991 & 1993.

John rewrote the record book at Chaminade College Prep where he accomplished the low scoring average in a single season, low scoring average over the course of 4 years, and most tournaments won. 

 

John was recruited by several colleges and in 1994 attended the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa.  Over the course of the next 4 years, John played in over 30 college tournaments which included the 1996 Division 1 NCAA Finals hosted by the Honors Club in Chattanooga, Tennessee.  John was voted by his peers as Team Captain his junior year.

Upon graduation, John moved to Scottsdale Arizona to pursue a playing career.  After one year as a professional, John turned his attention to teaching others.  For the past 22 years, John has given over 22,000 lessons to golfers of all abilities including professionals, amateurs, beginners, and juniors.  John has worked with and learned from some of the most elite coaches in the game including Hank Haney, Rick Smith, Lynn Marriott, Pia Nilsson, and Jim Flick.

John has taught at some the nation’s top golf destinations including TPC Scottsdale, TPC Sawgrass, and Camelback Golf Club.  Currently John is the General Manager and Master Elite instructor at the Rick Smith Golf Performance Center at Trump National Doral in Miami Florida.

​

Over the course of the last 22 years, John has earned several high industry accolades including being recognized by his peers as one of the top instructors in the state of Arizona by Golf Digest Magazine.  John has also been ranked as a Golf Tips Magazine “top 25” instructor.   John has written over 100 golf instruction tips and starred in over 100 video tips that have been featured in Golf Tips Magazine, espn.com, pgatour.com and NBC’s “The Today Show.”

 

John’s goal for the online coaching platform is simple… to pass on the wealth of knowledge he has gained as a player and coach over the past 38 years.   You will not find a more passionate, hardworking, and knowledgeable teacher anywhere else.
